When setting up The Flower Cottage, my aim was set out to provide high quality care for children in the Early Years but also make a positive difference to our community as much as possible. We regularly get out and about in our local community, providing random acts of kindness, visiting local care homes and teaching the children the importance of the different services that are provided to help us, like our local shops, doctors, dentist and many more other public services. We also support many charities across the year and annually donate to our local food bank.

Business and community defib fundraiser - Easter 2025
Raising money for a defibrillator has always been a dream of mine.
Losing a parent makes this even more important to me
I have always wanted to fundraise for a special cause, raise awareness of the importance of defibs and how these can make a massive impact on lives by also shining a light on my own experiences when I was a little girl.
Raising money for a defibrillator for not just the setting but for public use also. Being able to make the final purchase of our defib, was a very touching achievement for my own personal self. I sadly lost my dad when I was 10 years old from cardiac arrest and there was not a defibrillator in sight. I always find myself wondering what would have happened if there was, could this have saved his life? Would this then mean he could have still been here to watch my business grow and flourish? I will never know.
It would break my heart to know of any nearby incidents taking place and that a defib couldn't be located, resulting in the same unfortunate impact on another family and their future.

This year I have hosted another fundraiser - The Flower Cottage Easter Fundraiser 2025
A party with the one and only Easter bunny including entertainment and games.
A variety of stall tables for you to purchase some gorgeous Easter themed products from wonderful small businesses including delicious Easter range bakes, sweets, crafts, wreaths, greeting cards and a toy sale! Along with face painting and glitter tattoo opportunities. Food and ice cream vans available too!!
A bouquet style raffle prize consisting of cash, scratch cards, vouchers, fizz and chocolate treats!
Only £1 per raffle ticket!
Easter fun for all!
And... wow! What a turn out, thank you everyone for making this achievement possible in such a short space of time and I can’t thank those enough who joined in with our fundraiser event with donations, providing their own stalls and trying to help as much as possible when I had a bit of a hectic morning on the fundraiser day!
A massive heartfelt thank you to you all and these thanks will be placed on our memorial plaque too.
We raised another £170 at the fundraiser event which has now been transferred into the gofundme page, our final total is… £1,386, just incredible! I’m pleased to confirm that both British Heart Foundation and London Hearts have now received their split funds from the additional money raised!
I have now edited the settings on our gofundme page to ensure we stop receiving donations.
London Hearts are providing us with a plaque in memory of my dad. I cannot wait to receive this and place it above our defibrillator.
I have been in touch with both of the winners who are super pleased with their raffle prizes which is just fantastic.
The feedback from our event has just been overwhelmingly wonderful, not just regarding the event but my childminding job as a whole and the things I do, I simply cannot express how grateful I am to have so many people turn up and show their support.
'Baby and Me' Christmas fundraiser event 2024
'Baby and Me' - Saturday 15th December 2024🎄. I transformed our role-play and sensory cabin into a magical grotto to create a charity based event this Christmas time. I am happy to reveal that £332 has been raised for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. This has been raised through a collection of raffles and event hosted at The Flower Cottage. I have paid for all of the food, decorations, presents and extras for the fundraiser event and completely transformed the entire cabin. My aim was to enable families to enjoy a few hours of festivities with their babies while making a huge impact to a charity. Thank you so much to all of the girls who stepped in to support me for my event, I am truly grateful for all of your help along with my wonderful partner Joe, for being Santa Claus for a second year running! Black Country Food Bank
Every year The Flower Cottage families support Black Country Food Bank by donating lots of unwanted and unused food items. We donate this during the harvest festival period, we drive to the food bank and have our photo took in front of the sign and we kindly receive a lovely certificate to keep!

We have had a wonderful morning celebrating all of our children’s incredible achievements for the year. We have also celebrated one of our children making an exciting transition to school in September. We have made our own graduation party hats and enjoyed some lovely surprises throughout our party

Another big thank you to E&L Events for our balloon table decorations and buffet! Wish I had a picture of the whole buffet, only got a partial one! Food was great! Amazing children’s buffet option with tea, coffee and juice on hand!
A massive thank you to Mad house mascots once again, for a fantastic paw patrol party, the children loved it.
Another huge thank you to our wonderful Naomi from Moo Music Dudley, Sedgley and Tipton fantastic session as always, brilliant end to our party.

It is a wonderful place, we are lucky to have spent our second birthday with them!
Our Easter Party 2024!
Happy Easter everyone It is safe to say that ALL of the children loved the Easter Bunny visit today! Super happy! We had the best party hosted by the lovely Frankie and the Easter Bunny. Frankie also hosted our graduation party with Bluey and Bingo too! It was lovely to see you again. We all had a fantastic time dancing, playing games and winning some exciting prizes. The children loved a big cuddle and high five off the Easter Bunny and has kick started our Easter bank holiday weekend! Thanks SO much Mad house mascots.

We had BLUEY and BINGO join us with a fantastic host, food and drinks prepared and served by my lovely mum and a disco dome hired by Castle Corner. Our whole day was so so special and one that I will never forget.
